Strobing Moment

Somewhere at this moment, the Kardashians are freaking out. In the past couple days a huge change has occurred in the makeup world; contouring is out, strobing is in.

According to the mythical tale of where strobing started, this new trend was created by french women (of course), who felt that they didn’t need to change their looks (contour) to feel beautiful.

This trend is completed by adding copious amounts of highlighter to the high points of your face instead of making the low points darker like you would when contouring. The finished look will resemble a glowing goddess.

So, what do I think of this trend? To tell you the truth, I am obsessed! I am all about “natural” makeup (or at least makeup that LOOKS natural…) so for me, this is a no brainer.

The second I found out about this trend, I dropped everything (including my breakfast) and ran to my collection and pulled my four favorites highlights.

Now, clearly these colors are all very different. Becca’s “Opal” will give you a perfect “JLO glow”. L’Oreal’s “Magic Lumi” primer will provide an intense white strobe. ColorPop “Lunch Money” is both the most natural and most inexpensive option, the champagne shade will give you a healthy glow. Lastly, BareMinerals created their California Bronze Palette which included the perfectly gold highlight called “The Shining Moment.”

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in “Opal” $38

L’Oreal Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer $13

ColourPop Highlighter in “Lunch Money” $8

BareMinerals California Bronze Palette $29

Just remember you guys, keep the Kardashian family in your prayers this week. They must be going through a tough time.
