Lord knows I love lip products; Glosses, sticks and stains fill my mind with joy. Tell me I can get the trendiest shades for $5 each (yeah girl, you read that right), made here in California and cruelty free? I’m sold!

If you haven’t heard of them already, Colour Pop is a Los Angeles based cosmetic brand that sells lipsticks, eyeshadows and blushes for between five and eight buckaroos. Lately they have been teaming up with the internets finest beauty gurus to create gorgeous shades. For my first order, I decided to reach for muted shades that I know I will rock all summer. The formula is said to resemble the NARS Audacious Lipstick, but I think it is very similar to the YSL Pur Couture formula. Basically, once these bad boys are on, they will stick for hours! The only thing I can say is if you have dry lips, these will make you a little chapped. The color pay off is so good though that I will ignore that indiscretion.

I knew right off the bat I was going to order “Lumière” (center) by the one and only Kathleen Lights. The YouTube guru stated this about her shade, “I wanted a color that both bold and shy people could wear. It’s not a nude..it would look great on EVERYONE!” Lumière is a matte dusty mauve pink. I wore it to the movies a few nights ago and couldn’t get over how beautiful it was. I think this will become a regular in my handbag.

Secondly, after looking at swatches I realized I needed “Brink” (right) in my arsenal. Created by Instagram extraordinaire Brittany Suleiman, the shade is a warm dusty taupe with a matte finish. To answer your question, yes this is lippie was designed with the Kylie lip trend in mind. This shade completely fills my ’90s urges and for 5 bucks, I don’t even feel bad about it.

Lastly, I wanted more of a true muted pink. After some debate, I finally decided on “Frida” (left). This warm mid-tone nude pink was designed by the lady behind Coffee Breaks With Dani on YouTube. This is a satin finish, so it has a smooth finish. For me, this Lippie Stix is pretty much my “my lips but better” shade. It is going to be my “I’m not wearing THAT much makeup go-to!
