Flower Children: Marchesa Does Festival Style

We all know Marchesa for their glamorous red carpet worthy gowns that grace the runway each season. For their ten-year anniversary, the duo of Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig decided to mix up their predictably beautiful dresses. The new look still has quintessential Marchesa elements like flowing lace and precision embroidery, but the modern bohemian touches push Marchesa into their next decade of fashion.

The garments themselves remind me of walking though a garden. The simple and somewhat ethereal silhouettes inspire a feeling of classic elegance. The use of gold lace gives the model a goddess glow while the classic white lace embroidered with flowers adds a touch of innocence to the line. By adding fringe to many of the more classic looking Marchesa dresses, they added that flare of Bohemian. Because of this I can see the models traipsing around a villas garden instead of on the basic wood and ivory runway. Chapman and Craig created such a diverse line this season and designed garments will fit a variety of Marchesa clients.

I can already see these dresses on the red carpet. I noticed the dresses range from young and playful to more elegant creations. I have no doubt that these dresses will start popping up on carpets soon. Needless to say, I think we are going to be seeing a lot more of this line. I’m truly intrigued to see where the next decade of Marchesa will take us.
