Back To Basics: Plain White Tee

In my life as a fashion student, I get to do some really unique homework! Last week in my What I Wore post, I gave you all a little teaser on this weeks homework. The project consisted of using one white tee shirt in two completely different looks! Using my photographer brother Jim Lieskovan (here) and my gorgeous friend Kimmie Muir (Instagram @kimmiekimzz) as a model, we went out to the beach and to the city to do our work! I hope you guys enjoy and I hope you can get some cute outfit ideas to incorporate into your wardrobe this summer!

Project Social – T Sheer Super-Scoop Tee $34

Look One: Beach Babe

For the first look we kept to my personal vibe. I aimed to create a look that represented the classic American girl-next-door style, but of course with a California girl twist. I of course started this look with the base of the white tee, then I added some old school boyfriend jeans and a pair of brown leather and suede sandals. I put a beanie over Kimmies hair to give it a more relaxed and natural vibe. Then I thought the look needed a trendy pop, so I tied my favorite flannel around her waist! And of course a Jennifer look would be nothing without my lucky gold railroad tie necklace. I gave Kimmie a simply natural and luminous face and a basic gold eye with a beige lip. This location is a little cove about 30 minutes south of the city where the ragged cliffs line the coast. This small beach is so unique because it has a gorgeous stream that runs down the sand into the ocean. Plus it has impeccably placed driftwood!

Look Two: San Francisco Chic

For the second look, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone a little bit. I was inspired by the classic edgy and trendy style you see everywhere in San Francisco. After starting with the tee I had Kimmie step into my favorite Levi’s cutoffs. Kimmie had this leather jacket in her closet that was calling my name, so of course I had her slip it on. I put my brothers leopard five panel hat on top of her wavy hair and then after much consideration, I put a pair of leather cut out boots on her feet. Finally, the look needed a pop of color, so I handed her my cobalt blue neoprene backpack I got recently. I gave Kimmie a matte face, a matte nude eye and a dusty rose lipstick. Last minute, we had to change the location of this shoot and thankfully this small mechanic shop in SOMA (south of market) let us shoot by their dirty tires (they did give us some weird looks though when we asked).
