I’m going to start todays post by saying this: I don’t always use primers. I don’t really believe they are useful for everyone and I didn’t purchase every primer in this post. I did receive the majority of them for free (Ipsy, gifts and Sephora points or Ulta freebies). I of course use them if I know my picture is going to be taken, if my skin doesn’t feel fab or if I want a little more coverage out of my foundation I reach to these. I have gathered a few over the past year or so that I feel do a great job and here they are:
More Coverage: This is one of the ones I actually bought and I surprisingly got it as recently as last week. I use the Bare Minerals Bare Skin foundation and sometimes I feel like I could use a little more coverage so I picked this up. It’s a primer and BB cream all in one so you can wear it under makeup or as a BB all on its own. So far I am loving it. It dispenses quite thick but it feels airy on your skin. I really like it for summer because it feels smooth and looks really pretty. If your looking for more coverage or lighter makeup, get this one.
Bare Minerals – Prime Time BB Primer Cream – $26 (1 oz)
Acne Fighting: I’m pretty sure I got this one in an Ipsy bag and then I spotted it in Sephora not long after. This is a good thick primer that also fights your acne while under your makeup. It goes on smoothly and primes really well. The only thing I don’t like about this specific primer is that it feels warm on your skin when you apply it, but I know that most likely means its activating and going to work to fight of blemishes.
Cover FX – Mattifying Primer With Anti-Acne Treatment – $16 (0.5 oz)
Illuminating: Again, I got this little one for free. This one has a pinkish tint to it when you look at but once its applied it gives your skin a nice glow. It’s a very thin formula so it doesn’t feel heavy on your skin and it truly just adds a little light shine to your makeup. So if your someone who likes adding illuminator to your foundation look into this one. It gives such a healthy sheen. Plus, its drugstore and you really can’t beat the price.
Pixi – Flawless Beauty Primer – $9 (0.4 oz)
Dewy Skin – If your like me and you have dry skin don’t even read this, click the link below and buy this. Whenever my skin is feeling extra dry a thin layer of this over my moisturizer keeps my skin from getting flaky and gives my skin a dewy appearance. This primer really reminds me of a lighter Smashbox Photo Ready Primer (next) which makes it perfect for everyday. I love this stuff. If you are wanting to try out using primer for the first time buy this one. Its wonderful.
Sephora Collection – Ultra-Smoothing Primer – $15 (0.5 oz)
Overall Gorgeous Skin: I have been lucky enough to have never actually bought one of these! Because I only use them if I am having my picture taken, I go through the minis super slowly. Every time I am almost out I get another mini as a gift from Sephora or Ulta. My timing is impeccable. I honestly don’t even know what to say about it; its perfect, everyone loves it, buy it. Does that cover it?
Smashbox – Photo Finish Foundation Primer – $15 (mini – 0.5 oz)
