Musics hottest new girl, Lorde is preparing herself to grace the March cover of Vogue. After coming out of obscurity last year and into the spotlight with her hit songs “Royals” and “Team” the seventeen year old has become a household name. In her Vogue interview with Nathan Heller, Lorde listed Comme des Garçons, Miu Miu, Moschino and Simone Rocha as her favorite designers. All of which absolutely fit the young eccentrics personal style. The seventeen year old powerhouse also stated “[The] kind of clothes that I’ve found I like to wear over the past year and six months have all been things that make me feel powerful and strong … I wear a lot of pants and long, structured dresses.”
Lordes interview was fashionably tame compared to what we have heard to be her inspiration in the past. At the 2014 Grammys (where she took home two awards), She stated her look referenced both medieval bear-hunters and zombies. The incredibly mature teen also stated that her sartorial influences included Grace Jones and David Bowie, both of which are perfect Vogue answers. Never the less, Lorde is making an impact. With her creative music, sometimes scary style and interesting disposition, Lorde is definitely someone to watch.
